Mount Kenya Treks

Mount Kenya is located in central part of Kenya just at the south of the equator. It is a highest mountain in Kenya and the second highest mountain in Africa. It is a volcanic mountain with magnificent cliffs and glaciers protect the highest peaks Batian (5,199m) and Nelion (5,188m) but the third highest summit, Lenana (4,985m) is also glaciated and is the highest that can be summited without technical gear and techniques. Tro-Peaks offers non-technical climbs (treks) of Mt Kenya to Lenana Peak.

Most of peaks on Mount Kenya have been summited. There are eight vegetation bands or zones from the base to the summit. The lower slopes zone are covered by different types of forest where many species are endemic to Mount Kenya such as lobelias, senecios and rock hyrax.
