Getting to Moshi

Moshi is a town located on the southern slope of Mt. Kilimanjaro in the north of Tanzania country not far from the Kenya border. To reach Moshi the best option is flying to Kilimanjaro International Airport (JRO). Several airlines such as KLM/ Kenya airways, Ethiopian airways and Condor serve it. Our shuttle From JRO airport to Moshi is 40 US Dollars based with a group of 5 people one way. The tickets to Kilimanjaro airport may be a bit expensive than flying to Nairobi or Dar es Salaam but you save the time for bus travel costs for domestic travel, costs for Kenyan visa (if flying to Nairobi) and possible two hotel nights in Nairobi or Dar es Salaam. It is good idea to arrive at least one day before your Kilimanjaro trek or safari departs, if coming from the Americas or the Far East,coming at least two days early is best.

DAR ES SALAAM (DAR)

Buses between Dar and Moshi are approximately $20 US Dollars per person one way. the trip takes 9 - 10 hours. Busses only depart in the mornings daily. Domestic flights take around 1 hour and cost approximately $240 US Dollars per person one way. Safe hotels in Dar es Salaam range from $40-150 US Dollars for a double room. We can assist you with hotel any hotel in Moshi and transfers booking from any destination to Moshi. While at Dar es salaam to get to Moshi. (Choose the bus Dar-Arusha then get a ticket for Moshi).

We recommend Dar Express or Kilimanjaro Express bus companies It is wise to book one day in advance.

NAIROBI (NBO)

The two shuttle companies IMPALA SHUTTLE and RIVERSIDE SHUTTLE connect Nairobi to Moshi and the cost is 35 US Dollars per person one way. The shuttle takes approximately 6 hours leaving Nairobi 7:30am every morning.
The shuttle stops at Tanzania border where all passengers must disembark and go through immigration. A visa will be required to enter to Tanzania.
If you take the afternoon shuttle it only goes as far as Arusha. Tro-peaks adventures will then arrange for your private car to drive you from Arusha to Moshi.
